Macbook Battery Replacement In Singapore
Did you know that most laptop batteries last one or two years only? That’s right, no matter how well you take care of your device, it will eventually need a battery replacement. A battery’s lifespan is affected by a plethora of factors, including the mix of things you do with your device and the number of charge cycles. So how do you know if your Macbook/Macbook Pro needs a new battery? Read on to find out!
Signs That Your Macbook Needs A Battery Replacement
A little bit of increased heat is normal when your battery is running – your laptop has fans to manage and dispel excess heat. However, if you notice that your Macbook is getting noisy as the fans work overtime to attempt to cool it down, and that the bottom of your device feels too hot to touch, it might be a good idea to bring your Macbook to a professional repair shop to get it checked. Remember to shut down and unplug your device at the first signs of overheating to avoid further damage.
Failing to charge
If your Macbook fails to charge even when plugged in, this could be a sign that the battery needs replacing. To verify that your laptop battery is indeed the problem and eliminate other causes like faulty power strip or other devices, plug directly into the wall. If the battery still fails to work, it’s time for a battery replacement.
Short run time & sudden shutdowns
You can usually get several hours of run time on your Macbook on a single charge – if you find that you are running to get your charger often and can’t seem to get much work done because of how often your Macbook needs charging, you probably need a new battery. Your battery run time is affected by many factors like screen brightness, the number of programmes that you have open and whether you are listening to audio or watching a video. Hence, doing a lot at once can cause your battery to run out sooner and that’s perfectly normal. However, if you notice that you only get half an hour or less run time on a full charge, there is definitely a problem. If your Macbook shuts off without warning, it could also be a sign of a faulty battery and you definitely need to get it checked out.
A foolproof way of checking if your Macbook needs a new battery is to click on the battery icon that is displayed on the top menu bar. If there is a problem with your battery, or if it is reaching the end of its lifespan, you will see one of these messages – “replace soon”, “replace now” or “service battery”. When you see any of these messages, it’s time for battery replacement!
